Ingredients

  • ¾ cup coarsely ground coffee beans around 90 grams
  • â–¢6 cups of filtered water
  • â–¢2 tsp vanilla extract
  • â–¢2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • â–¢Almond milk oat milk etc. for serving

Instructions

Step 1

  • In a big pitcher, put in some coffee grounds and water. Now add cinnamon and vanilla, stir with a wooden spoon. Let the grounds rise to the surface, and do your best not to disturb them as you blend in some cinnamon.

Step 2

  • Cold brew: place in fridge for minimum 8 hours (for bet flavour keep it up to 24).

Step 3

  • Set a fine mesh strainer or, more ideally, a cheesecloth over another pitcherREACTIONS OR really wide-mouth container. Now pour the coffee (grounds included) over a fine wire mesh strainer, then through some flour sack material. Reserve the coffee ground (see post for uses) and strain a few more times. This way you can easily manage to get all the ground out.Or carefully pour cold brewthrough a paper coffee filter (slower, but cleaner the first time.

Step 4

  • Now you can enjoy your coffee! It should last in the refrigerator up to a week. It has a decent amount of caffeine in it so you can water or milk if necessary to make a latte. I usually mix ½ cup cold brew with ½–1 cup or water and/or milk. Adjust as per your requirement

  • The best part about brewing with Chemex is the ability to easily change your coffee-to-water ratio for a bit more strength if you fancy.
  • Let me know how you get on experimenting with the flavored syrups!
  • Leftover cold brew can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
