This Green Tea Latte is a healthy and delicious drink, perfect for a cold day. This recipe uses bagged green tea, condensed almond milk and spices for flavor!

Mach became all the rage. I am hooked, many of you are hooked and now it is on almost every coffee shop menu out there! Big chains like Starbucks are also getting on board.

But matcha isn’t for everyone. For starters, it has a super bitter taste. It’s also pretty darn pricey. And the quality of the tea makes all the difference. There are so many crappy matcha powders out there that can totally ruin your latte!

So I want to share a Green Tea Latte recipe that doesn’t use matcha at all! It uses simple bagged green tea so it’s affordable and simple, but still absolutely delicious. This refreshing latte is easy to make, uses only 6 ingredients, tastes amazing and is still super energizing!

What is a Green Tea Latte?

A Green Tea Latte is just a latte with green tea as a base in place of the espresso. A latte being a traditional milk coffee is prepared with condensed milk and espresso but in green tea latte we do not use coffee but rather tea. You can use any green tea to make latte but popular today are matcha lattes.

Are Green Tea Lattes Healthy?

Green Tea really is a very healthy beverage and making a completely healthy green tea latte is indeed possible. One must be careful with ordering green tea lattes from pre-brewed green tea prepared in advance. That mix, like the ones used by Starbucks, tends to come with added sugar and other such components you don’t need. And here are 6 basic instructions, but you’ll get all the great healthy effects of green tea anyway!

How to Make a Green Tea Latte?

Preparing this latte is perhaps one of the easier things to do, out there. Just three easy steps and in minutes you are holding a frothy latte of your choice!! Here’s how to do it:

  • Make your tea: Put the tea bag right in the mug and then pour hot water that has been boiled over it. This should make the tea nice and thick, so let it steep for 3 – 5 minutes.
  • Add everything to the blender: Take out the tea bag from the cup of tea and pour this tea into the blender. Finally add the remaining ingredients.
  • Mix it up!
  • That’s the one. Spoon the creamy and delicious green tea latte into your mug and you are good to start!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bag of green tea
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey for sweetness
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Fill a mug â…” of the way full with boiling water. Add the tea bag and steep for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bag and pour the hot tea, milk, honey, and spices in a blender. Blend on high until creamy. Pour into your mug and enjoy!
